Williamsville, NY – (November 2, 2016) Paul Fix and the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach/Techron Corvette enter this week’s stop on the 2016 Trans Am Series tour at the Circuit of Americas looking to carry the momentum that has propelled the team well into the championship chase. Fix resides second in points, one point out of the top spot, with but two rounds of racing remaining. With another positive outcome this weekend, Fix will be on his way to the season finale at Daytona and a spot in championship history.
In 2015 Fix qualified on the pole at COTA and was a force to contend with. Both driver and team anticipate a similar strategy.
“I am feeling good about COTA. I have had success here in the past,” said Fix. “The course design is fast but challenging. I really seem to find my rhythm and excel there.”
The last few races have laid witness to the intense level of preparation the crew at Tony Ave Racing continue to put forth. Poles, fast laps and wins in the most recent handful of races have driven Fix up the standings. The team expects more of the same.
Said Fix, “I have to give credit where due. My team, crew chief and engineer have not rested. We are determined to etch our name into the record books as champions in this the 50th anniversary season.”
“The last few races have provided us the opportunity to really turn things around. With only two races left, the team and I have an appreciation for what needs to be accomplished. I intend to see it through and achieve the ultimate piece of hardware come season’s end.”
On track action from COTA begins with practice session one at 4:50PM Thursday. Friday’s schedule will provide Fast Five qualifying at 11:42AM CT, followed by practice session two at 5:08PM CT. Saturday’s 30laps of racing is set to begin at 10:50AM CT.
