Williamsville, NY (August 12, 2015) – After a midsummer’s break, Paul Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette look forward to a return to racing this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the Next Dimension 100, presented by FirstEnergy. The Mid-Ohio stop on the schedule starts the second half of the 2015 season and the final stretch of events towards a championship. For Fix and the Tony Ave Racing crew, the strategy is simple.
“I plan to go out and run each event with a purpose to win the race,” said Fix. “At this stage of the season with the points being what they are, we need to pounce on every opportunity to advance in the standings.”
Fix currently sits second in the championship standings and with the six remaining races all on circuits Fix has previously excelled at, team spirits are high. The team has not rested on its laurels during the down time between events.
Said Fix, “We spent some time during the pause after Brainerd testing and working on car setup. I think the guys at the shop and my car chief Greg have hit on a great outline for the upcoming events. I know full well we will be up front and pressuring for victories and points. We are looking forward to rebounding from the unfortunate incident at Brainerd.”
Not only has Fix and the Tony Ave Racing team prepared the No. 4 Corvette for optimum results, the team has added a new technical engineer to their arsenal. Mark Scott, formerly with Prototype Development LLC and Riley & Scott, has joined Fix’s side of the tent.
Scott’s motorsports career spans nearly forty years and covers everything from Formula Ford to Formula 1. Mark Scott was a part of the 1976 World Championship team with driver James Hunt. In North America, Scott is best-known as half of former chassis constructor Riley & Scott.
“I am really looking forward to having Mark Scott assist us in accomplishing our objectives during this final set of races,” offered Fix. “Mark brings experience in many faucets of chassis development and his knowledge will be put to good use.”
Paul Fix and the rest of the Trans Am teams will begin the weekend at Mid-Ohio on Thursday, August 13 for practice at 1:55 p.m. Friday “Fast Five” qualifying begins at 8:10 a.m. and a second practice session at 11:30. On Saturday, August 15, The Next Dimension 100, presented by FirstEnergy 101.96 mile, 45 lap race starts at 12:50. Live timing and scoring can be found at gotransam.com/live-timing.
