Paul Fix captured his fourth win of the 2016 Trans Am Championship with a flag-to-flag victory at NOLA Motorsports Park, Round 10 of the series’ 50th anniversary season. The win puts Fix just one point off of current points leader.
This weekend brings Fix and crew to the NOLA Motorsports Park for round ten, an event Fix finished second in 2015 en route to establishing a new track record. Once again Fix foresees favorable results.
The clock is ticking on the 2016 Trans Am Championship season. With just four events remaining, including this weekend?s stop at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Paul Fix and the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach/Techron Chevrolet Corvette are placed in prime position to continue the team?s upward assault on the points standings.
From the moment Fix?s team unloaded their race car until the checkered flag waved on Saturday, Fix was the class of the field qualifying on the pole, running away with the 31 lap race to victory and establishing a new TA class lap record in the process. The win gave driver Paul Fix a trifecta of victories at VIR, showcasing the team?s dominance at the facility the last three seasons of racing there.
Paul Fix had his own show of dominance in the Trans Am race. For Fix, his third consecutive Trans Am victory on the 3.27-mile track marked an imminent return to the thick of the TA class Championship battle.
Fix will arrive to VIR as the two time defending race winner, looking for a third visit to the top step of the podium. With five races remaining, the final push to secure the Trigon Trophy is essential.
This week?s visit to Road America begins the second half of the 2016 Trans Am series schedule of racing.
