Paul Fix and the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach Tony Ave Racing Corvette will unload at Watkins Glen International Raceway this week for the Classic Tube 100. Fix is seeking to place himself atop the podium at what is his home track. With two races concluded on the 2016 schedule, Fix and team are ready to move upward in the points standings.
Watkins Glen International will host the North American Road Racing Association (NARRA) Sportscar Challenge, May 13-15, with the event bringing six competitive racing series to America’s premier road course for a weekend of action.
Paul Fix and the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach Tony Ave Racing Corvette will arrive for this week’s Road Atlanta stop on the 2016 schedule of Trans Am series events eyeing redemption for the Sebring incident at the opening round last month. Fix was forced to retire early at Sebring but intends to make amends.
The Trans Am’s 50th anniversary celebration was initiated this past weekend at Sebring International Raceway, the same location it all began 50 years ago in 1966. Paul Fix brought the #50 Stopflex / ClassicTube / TheCarCoach Tony Ave Motorsports Corvette in pursuit of a driver’s championship. Despite starting from the front row, the weekend ended on a downturn for Fix following a racing incident in the final few laps of the event.
Paul Fix will enter the 2016 Trans Am Series championship season with a determination to place his name into the archives of driver champions. Fix completed the 2015 season second in the final standings and is prepared for a full assault of the twelve events. Fix will race the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach Tony Ave Racing prepared Corvette. Paul has transitioned to the No. 50 in honor of the Trans Am Series’ 50th anniversary.
The 2015 Trans Am season finale at Daytona brought closure to an impressive season of racing for Paul Fix and the No. 4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach.com/Royal Purple/WellWorth Corvette out of the Tony Ave Racing shop. Fix battled back against an on track incident and finished inside the top ten once again with a seventh place result, after leading the opening laps. Fix closed out the season with a solid second place in the championship standings.
Paul Fix’s visit to the Lone Star state and the Circuit of The Americas for round eleven of the 2015 Trans Am schedule ended early in the event. Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette experienced an unforeseen mechanical issue forcing the No. 4 entry to retire from the race. Fix finished 14th in the results and yet maintains a solid hold on second place in the championship standings with one remaining event, Daytona, this week.
With only two events remaining on the 2015 Trans Am schedule, Paul Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette roll into the Circuit of The Americas eleven points away from a season championship. Fix comes to COTA with past experience and a previous national championship under his belt in the SVRA Trans Am class. The No. 4 team will undoubtedly be the car to bet this weekend.
Coming off his second consecutive victory at Virginia International Raceway two weeks ago, Paul Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette look to take full advantage of the three remaining events on the 2015 schedule to advance into first place in the season standings enroute to a 2015 Trans Am Series Championship. Only a 14 point deficit to first in the standings stands between Fix and the champion’s Trigon Trophy.
