Williamsville, NY – (September 21, 2016) Paul Fix and the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach/Techron Chevrolet Corvette will venture South into the Autumnal Equinox and this week’s Trans Am Series race at VIRginia International Raceway following a strong second place finish at Road America a few weeks ago in less than ideal weather conditions. Fix presently resides fifth overall in the championship points and is steadily paring away the deficit.

“Road America was a strong showing for our team,” said Fix. “Mother Nature certainly made a mess of the race, but in typical fashion the Tony Ave Racing team gridded a well prepared car that allowed me to run at the front and secure a second place finish.”

Fix will arrive to VIR as the two time defending race winner, looking for a third visit to the top step of the podium. With five races remaining, the final push to secure the Trigon Trophy is essential.

“I have won the last two events at VIR. In 2015 I won from the start in the rain. I wouldn’t mind if it was wet again,” Fix offered.

With a compact schedule of events left to close out the season, wins and points are paramount. Team and driver are poised to succeed.

“The top five in points are reasonably tight,” said Fix. “Each race we chip away at those above us. I fully expect we will finish out the remaining races with a very hardcore assault on the podium.”

Paul Fix and the rest of the Trans Am competitors will see action Friday for practice and qualifying followed by Saturday’s 31 laps of racing from VIR at 11:25 AM ET.
