Williamsville, NY- (March 3, 2016) Paul Fix will enter the 2016 Trans Am Series championship season with a determination to place his name into the archives of driver champions. Fix completed the 2015 season second in the final standings and is prepared for a full assault of the twelve events. Fix will race the #50 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach Tony Ave Racing prepared Corvette. Paul has transitioned to the No. 50 in honor of the Trans Am Series? 50th?anniversary.
?I am excited to be a part of this momentous season,? said Fix. ?For 50 years Trans Am has been an incredible racing series with great drivers involved. That history is a part of me as I intend to scribe my name into the record books this year.?
The Tony Ave Racing crew has been once again tasked with the responsibility of preparing Fix?s entry. The crew has not rested during the off season, focusing their energies into preparing and testing the best available car for Fix.
Said Fix, ?The crew is anxious to get the season underway. They are eager to show that we are every bit a contender this year. We had a very successful season in 2015 and our goal is to achieve the championship in this the 50th?celebration season, it is our team?s primary objective.?
The 2016 schedule of events will have Fix and the series visiting familiar venues. Fix has already established track records, fast laps and wins at many of the racetracks on this year?s schedule. Those accomplishments and experience will be pivotal when it comes to attaining the championship.
?There certainly is a level of comfort knowing our past performances at the various stops along the road to a championship,? offered Fix. ?I expect we will be fast and extremely competitive this season.?
The 2016 pursuit for a championship trophy gets under way this weekend at Sebring International Raceway. Trans Am will be on track at Noon ET Friday, March 4th?for practice followed by the One Shot Qualifying session at 5:20PM ET. The green flag will wave on 27 laps of racing Saturday, March 5th?at 4:50 PM ET. Fans of Paul Fix can follow all the action via live timing and scoring available at?gotransam.com.
