Williamsville, NY (September 4, 2017) Paul Fix and Tony Ave Racing are Back! This time for Round 9 of the 2017 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at Watkins Glen International. Paul will be driving the #4 Stopflex/ClassicTube/CarCoach Tony Ave Racing Corvette.

With a short break in Paul’s current IMSA Prototype Challenge Series schedule he has been called upon to drive the #4 Corvette for Tony Ave. This year Paul has been driving for Tony Ave in the Ave Riley AR-2 Lemans prototype LMP3 chassis in the IMSA Prototype Challenge series presented by Mazda. With wins and podium positions he currently sits 6th in the overall driver championship points standings and 2nd in the masters class.

“Paul was brought in to further develop our Ave chassis for the 2018 season. We have had a great relationship over the years and I feel confident Paul’s engineering experience will further assist our AR-1 Trans Am chassis.” said Tony.

When asked about his prospective, Paul said, “I was very excited when Tony called and asked if I would step into his Trans Am Corvette for the Watkins Glen race. I feel I can give some valuable developmental input to help Tony. It also just happens to be my home track and I just love racing these Trans Am cars” said Paul.

Paul was a fulltime driver in the Trans Am Series the past two seasons driving for Tony Ave and has had much success with poles, wins, and track records.

Additionally Paul said “While I have had a lot of success in Trans Am in recent years I have some unfinished business here at my home track. The team and I are ready.”

The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli will take to the 3.4 mile natural terrain road course at Watkins Glen International as part of the US Vintage Grand Prix Weekend on Sunday, September 10th at 11:00AM ET for 100 miles/30 laps of racing.
